We don't always get what we want, but we do get what we need. I painted this a week before going to a wedding that was impacted by remnants of a hurricane on the coast. The outdoor wedding venue had a spectacular mountain view and the moody sky added a dramatic backdrop to the happy occasion. Additionally, the wind gusts made for a beautiful display of the bride's gorgeous train. The storm wasn't ideal, yet provided many gifts. Such is true with most challenges we face. Gifts in the Storm with its subtle landscape suggestions will add quiet drama to any room, inviting thoughtful contemplation.
